I am posting for a friend
Its a 97 PSD with 120,000 miles on her. It was running in the driveway and died. It was completely warm. Also has a history of routine maintenance and no engine problems. We spent alot of time trouble shooting it and determined that the right bank of injectors are not draining oil. The rail has pressure and the left side is pumping oil just fine. He has spent quite a bit of money on chasing the problem without any luck. I suggested the IDM or a valve cover gasket. Would either of those cause that?

 

I am not sure of the oil issue....however, did you already rule out the CPS? This little item is almost always the culprit for a no start on our trucks.

 

Yah, I was really hoping the CPS was going to be the ticket but it turned out to be ok.

 

Well at least you checked that critter first. I really don't know much about the oil draining back from the injectors though. Someone will be along soon to help out though.

 

Hmm... I was guessing CPS, too.
