Well with that set up it sounds like its all high rpm , you don't want any back pressure , scavenging is what you want for good low end , but you might just want to run some short after pipes off the headers , what size headers are you using....Lew

BBK shorty headers and 1 5/8 primaries, 2 1/2 collectors, and 3/8 flanges.

I would just use full length headers 1 5/8 - 1 3/4 with about 2 ft of after pipe , you can cut them where needed after you run it a few times to find the cut point...

I ran straight pipe on my 87 F150 with exhaust exiting out of the side of the bed, the cat is there but it was long gone (we looked threw it). I drive threw my neighbor hood all the time late at night with it and I have never had one complaint but I drive low rpm with a egg under the gas pedal. I asked several people if it bothered any of them (I have several trucks) and none of them noticed it.

I think a lot of these people are angry at other people and have not been able to express their feelings towards those causing these emotions. I like loud trucks, when it is the engine. Loud stereos on the other hand are a bit annoying when I'm trying to listen to my 351 but I don't think I would tell anyone on here that loud stereos are crap just because I wouldn't tell anyone in person that, everyone has their own ways.. let the local police decide if it will fly.

Wrongggg. My GF lives in south Georgia and im in south Georgia everyday. Its still annoying as hell hearing retardedly loud trucks. Trust ME people do care..

I ran open headers for 6 months. I know.. I used to think it was cool but ive grown up now and its just stupid.

Dont know what your worried about backpressure either.. Just run some 2.5" duals with straight through mufflers.

BTW Louder doesn't mean faster.

Take some pipe and dump it right into the cab. It will be plenty loud.

Well... is this not the reason you started this thread in the first place?

If you aren't running it on the street then why not get a DIY header kit and make it to where it runs out of the hood? No mufflers, no problem and a whole bunch of loud.

But lets be realistic here. you did not provide any information about how the motor was build, how it was used, or even a year for that matter. Most trucks in this part of the forum are street trucks. There is an off road section down towards the bottom. Heck, heres a link for ya: Don't Click . And heres one strictly for exhaust talk: I bite.

There are so many threads on here about exhaust set ups i am sure you could have used the SEARCH function and found what you were looking for as you were pretty general about what you were doing. There were no specific questions that pertained to your vehicle, so why even bother starting this thread in the first place?

If it is strictly off road, i agree go for it. All i posted was that we needed more info than what was provided and gave some links to other places that may be of more help.

I am not angry

We can all be friends, right?

I like an aggressive sounding truck. If its loud and sounds good... So be it. I am just saying that most people in and around a given neighborhood do not like a loud vehicle.

Myself, i will tell anyone that their POS stereo needs to be yanked from their car and set on fire on or off line. Now that craps just retawded. buncha boom boom bull****

i started this thread because i was worried about back pressure screwing up my valves and then everybody on here brought up the subject of what if its to loud or what if people got upset with me because it was to loud

ok first off i didnt ask the question "do you think this will be too loud"
i simply asked if a x pipe would help increase my back pressure.
