What are you workin on?
I know this isn't a need help thread, but I am like a kid in a candy store again as I got to start putting dad's FE together today for his race car. It is just a 390 but I love the FE. Got the crank, roller cam, timing set and #1 piston in. Degreed the cam and checked for valve to piston clearance. Couldn't go any further as I need to file fit the rings and I need to borrow my uncles ring filer. Didn't want to wing it with a file.
Dad's turning 65 next month, can't beat getting to watch him race the old fe again!
Anyone else workin on something fun??

It always makes feel good someone else is wrenching out there after coming in from the garage. I've been putting together a Truggy. I moved the FE back 16" and down 10" to center mount the weight. Had to start by cutting and reboxing the frame to gain 1/2" each side to clear the headers. Made my own mounts now I'm just hooking things up. Had to make my own power steering pump bracket relocat the oil filter. Things are tight in thier. This is my fourth FE and have not done much with this one as I've got another block and crank waiting. Have fun. RKD.

Oh yeah.....it's all fun now...but that won't last. Wait until you fire it up. Great joy for a minute or two. Then you suffer for the next few hundred miles (or more) listening for any little noise that might indicate a problem. Turns your hair gray, gives you ulcers,...just a horrible time...no fun at all !
LOL....nah, it ain't that bad. But I do like putting them together. Have fun.

Hairs already turning gray, had an ulcer for a while too. Don't care, my heart gets racing just when I'm working on it and even thinking about it. My heart may just jump out of my chest when dad gets in to fire it. This .680 lift roller sounded great in the 428, probably bring tears to my eyes on fire I'll be sooo happy!

I am working SLOWLY on a 390 fuel injected..distributorless engine.
Already have the injector bungs welded in a Edelbrock Performer RPM dual 4bbl intake..
Ready to start welding a Inake box that bolts to the top of the 4bbl intake using a front throw throttle body..will look alot like a Accel SuperRam for a BBC.
I have cut down the distributor already and it is just a Plug to turn the Oil pump
It will be fired by a Accel GEN 7 ignition system.
For timing I will be using a Ford EDIS system.
Edelbrock heads
Chrysler 340 Pistons
Fun progect.... building something No one else has.
