I think the pump is easier to replace, cheaper, and sounds like a good place to start.

Steering problems

I have exactly the same issue with my 2004 f250 4x4 diesel. Did you ever resolve the problem? Was it a steering box? Or pump?

Took the plunge.. Red Head steering gear fixed mine was a pain to change laying on my back and 40 deg outside with fluid running down my arms but well worth not having to worry about the wife trying to chase the beast down the road. And red head was great with the shipping FAST!!!

I believe it was last winter there was a redhead group buy. Maybe we can get another one started? I'd be interested in a redhead box.

Ok easy fix went and got a new steering stabilizer No change, It doesn't matter, with/without stabilizer, new or old stabilizer, it feels exactly the same way. You can be setting still spin the steering wheel (fling it) and it will go all the way right or left. Mods include new V code that have been on for around 6 months now and 35" tires. This is a new problem and did not show up for months after the new tires.

Also it will also not recenter while going down the road this sounds like something sticking, but tried with out stabilizer and no change plus back to its too easy to steer?

No pulling one way or the other. No new parts at all. fluids okay.

Thanks for any input
So it was the steering box? Having the same issue with my 05 6.8 with 7" lift and 37's.
