I'm completely stumped
#31
Hey guys, first I just wanted to thank you all for all of the good advise. I did some testing today with the voltmeter and sure enough the GPR wasn't working properly. I had a spare one, so I hooked that one up and it too wasn't working. I checked the ground and it turns out it was getting a bad ground. I got the problem all taken care of, so I cant be sure til the morning, but the GPR should now be working properly.

Well I guess I'm not quite out of the woods yet. The truck wouldn't start today. I hooked up the volt meter and one of the large posts is registering 12.8 volts as it should. The large post with the two wires coming out of it (which go to the plugs, correct?) is registering 0 volts. That's with the key turned to the "on" position and the "wait to start" light on. The original issue turned out to be a bad ground, so we ran a wire directly from the negative battery terminal to the GPR. That seemed like it fixed the issue, it started yesterday morning when it was about 35*. This afternoon I went to start it for the first time today (it was in the low to mid 40's) and she wouldn't start. Any ideas why the one large post would be registering 0 volts?

If you are using a GPR , (case isolated not a starter relay) the PCM sends ground to the GPR to time the GP's , based (mainly ) on EOT ...
So are you saying you fixed the no start with a ground wire ? Did you replace the GPR ?If you grounded the original , it is most likely burned out ..
No ground from the PCM can be a couple of things
