Just got my first Ford, 1991 F150 Lariat, and the radio/cassette player/ speakers rarely work. When i can get music going, the sound is full of white noise. Is it a fuse problem, or should i just get new speakers? If i need new ones, what should i get? Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

 

Common issue is speakers wires crack and fray in the doors... check speaker connection/wires... Plus factory speakers from then are not very good...

 

What cwpottenger said but not likley a fuse to cause intermittant operation more likley a bad electrical connection could be internal or external wiring helps to have a volt ohm meter to test wiring.to find the source of the noise you can connect a speaker you know to not be damaged to the stereo if the noise is still presant the source of the noise is the stereo.find the source of the problem before spending anything on it.

 

get some new ones either way. i installed a pair of polk components and i love the full sound. i dont even need rear speakers. its a good idea to go ahead and run some new wire out there as well
