Mine is a diesel, but

Ordered around 3-20, order picked up around 4-12, vin assigned around 4-18 and it'll be at the dealer 5-11 so from the time it was actually in Ford's system it'll be about 30 days.

[QUOTE=iggy2;10057529]This information will help others get an idea of the time line.

When did you order your truck?
16 Mar 2011
When did yo get an invoice number?
same date on vehicle order confirmation
When did you get a VIN#?
6 May, window sticker not up yet
When did you receive the truck?
my guess is last week of May/first week of June
What state do you live?
Missouri
build week is scheduled for 16 May
A few steps in the right direction and the dealers attitude was much improved
during the conversations the last couple of weeks.
With much gratitude to the members of the forum,
Russ

Talking I'm Happy

On a wild hair, I decided to see if the window sticker had made it to the web. I have checked three times a day since we received the VIN #, and since this is Saturday, I knew there would be no chance....The window sticker was there

I'm excited, I want to express my thanks to all of the FTE members and send a cyber beer to all. Thanks to 2000silverbullet and iggy2 for keeping my
spirit up. Now just to wait for the arrival

Best regards,

Well it won't take long to get to Florida from Kentucky.
You have a nice truck coming, same thing I got on mine. What color?
When you get a build date, it will be about 6 days after that.

The color is Ingot silver Metallic
Interior is Steel cloth 40/20/40 spilt seat

Build date was suppose to be tomorrow May 16th but my fleet manager advised it was already at the floor on Friday so I'm not sure how long its been being built.

When you say 6 days after the build date is that to have it at the dealership or on the rail or method of shipment?

Only takes 1 day to build. Mine was shipped by semi to Detroit. Built on a Fri. was at the dealer on Wednesday afternoon. Got the call call about 1 pm letting me know it was there. I don't think Ford wants the trucks sitting around at the plant.

It only takes a day to be built? I thought it would take longer. Also I thought they might hold on to some trucks until they had enough to fill a shipment before sending them away. Hopefully your correct I would not complain about receiving my new truck sooner rather than later.

For me and my experience the dealer ordered my truck on March 12 got a email from the dealer on April 30 that the truck was built on April 29 and sould be here on May 9 week. Well guess what still is not here! Talked to him last Friday and he told me their was a whole page on the train ride that it has taken so far. I could have walked to Kentucky and picked it up faster. I have had shippements from Japan come faster on a boat than it is taking this truck to get here. I guess I am getting excited! So had to vent alittle.

I hear ya, my truck got stuck in an Ohio freightyard for a week. Would've been a 2 hour drive for me to get it if I could....

Yes the train is very slow
It does take more the 1 day total. But once they start to put it all together it's less then 8 hours. The paint is what takes a extra 2-3 days. At least that's what I was told by a few people that work for GM and Chrysler, figure Ford probably has the same process, they just do it better.
