Hi,

Maybe you folks have heard that the earth's magnetic field is shifting more than previously. Miami International is actually redoing some runway numbering, apparently because they use the compass readings. ( I don't know if this is common or not).

Anyway, somebody is now blaming our latest storms on this shift

Didnt read the article but just to comment, we are over due for a magnetic pole flip, have been for a good few hundred years last I heard or was that a couple thousand years. In any case I know where over due and there was a great scientific based show on it how these scientist tested the magnetisim of rocks and distinct layers were found where the poles were different.

The latest theory I hear now though is that the bermuda triangle used to be the epicenter of one pole before the last flip. In this situation it makes you wonder if the theories are accurate. The theory is that if the poles flip that means the current of the magma has to change to change the poliarity if it was a simple flip where N pole magnetically is now the S pole. If its a drifting pole then some believe that the crust will shift when this happens. Sort of like shown in that movie 2012. Personally I cant justify how the crust would all of a sudden would shift like that from a magnetic pole shift.
