The left side is my oil cooler and the right side is a tranny cooler in series with the radiator tranny cooler. I plan to tow, so I wanted to have plenty of cooling. Both fans are temp switched.

30 psi?! I've never heard of anything using that high, I wonder where he found it! I'll bet your upper tank looks like a balloon!

No the tank looks normal, but it had alot of small holes in the upper tank... A mechanic friend of my was looking things over for me and he noticed it... He told me it's from a piece of heavy equipment radiator cap. I went and bought the correct one for a '49 F1 radiator...

wished I hadn't done the Volare install... that would have been 4 or 5 more years I could have wasted not working on my truck

I live in the Seattle area... we get about 7-8 months a year of rainy weather. I wish I had done the bare minimum to get my truck on the road, so i could at least drive it, then use that rainy season every year to wrench on it.
My truck is looking awesome, but I'm 6 years in and it still isn't drivable. Funny thing is that I did drive it home when I bought it.... granted it needed work.

When I was a teenager, I installed a sun roof. You guys remember the smoked plexiglass, bubbled up sun roofs that were popular in the 70s? I think most conversion vans had them for a while.

Anyway, the sun coming in made the black truck even hotter, it always seemed to leak, and the truck didn't really need the added air flow since it had the cowl vent to inflate the pants legs.

One day I forgot to lower it before I backed into the garage. That pretty much took care of it. I learned my lesson, filled the hole, and lived much better without it.

Do you know what mustang tanks will fit for a 56F100? i found one on a local website for $20 says it fits 79-93 mustangs.

I think this article goes in depth on the gas tank choices for
our truck. Seems to recommend 64-68 Mustang/Cougar 16 gallon tank,
69 Mustang 20 Gallon, & 70 Mustang/Cougar 22 gallon. I went with the 1970 to maximize range & it was a bit narrower than the older mustang tanks & fits between the rails easier.

You would want to measure your tank space out back then pick the tank that fits best. My Previous Owner had done a lot of work putting in a
tow hitch & I had less room than normal.

Having read the article on the mustang tank in a F100, why is the vent required on the tank if it wasn't needed in the mustang?

Just a WAG mind you but, it may have something to do with vented or non vented gas caps.

vent tube

I am pretty sure that the mustang fill tube has a small vent incorporated into it....
