The F4TZ12K073C is Ford's CPS for the newer 7.3s. It has gold plated contacts and the pigtail is also gold plated.

There has been some testing performed on these two CPS' and these unconfirmed tests have indicated that the F7TZ-12K073-B when used on the newer trucks can sometimes eliminate the contribution error that the F4TZ12K073C will sometimes throw on cylinder 3 but does not seem to help the cylinder contribution error on cylinder 8.

The problem using the F7TZ-12K073-B on the newer trucks is the issue of dissimilar metals where the CPS is tin plated but the pigtail is gold plated which can begin a corrosion process.

We recommend using the proper CPS for the year of your truck. If you continue to have issues with the newer 7.3s, you can try the F7TZ-12K073-B and see if it helps but always use the F7TZ-12K073-B CPS on the OBS trucks.

We have both on our website.
Thanks Guzzle. Ill try F4TZ12K073C first for my 2002. Im sure its overdue at 205k miles.
