Glad to hear it.
No race in Sac this year, but we've got Redding on May 14th...one week after the Colorado race, which is going to be in either Pueblo or Morrison. Planning on going to both.

We had a big, old, projector TV for a long time. My wife watched it everyday and didn't realize the picture was getting really orange. All the people looked like oompa loompas on that thing. My wife had a friend come over one day, and the lady asked what was wrong with the TV. My wife told her it was fine. The jig was up.
Of course I'm cheap and I'm gonna fix it myself. I opened it up, worked my way to the lens', and saw what looked like a big bug down in there. I started taking the lens retainer off and a bunch of liquid poured out onto the PC boards below. Little did I know they put liquid in there to cool the lamps. I knew I was done "fixing it", and rolled it out to the curb. Gone by morning.

There are two segments to our current society.
Those that fix things, and those that replace things.
Both appreciate the other, for completely different reasons.

Every couple of years here at the office, I have an electronic waste roundup. I've usually collected a couple pallets of old PC and monitors. Especially monitors, they don't last long these days. When I do it, I open it up to all our employees to bring in all their old TVs and electronics that cannot go into the regular trash. I had one of these roundups in January, and I was amazed at the amount of stuff that was brought in. I think we had about 6 pallets with a lot of it being projection TVs. Chances are a lot of them worked, but flat panels are what everyone wants.
I have a company that picks it all up for free. They collect that CA fee that we all pay when we buy a PC or TV, plus whatever scrap value they can get for dismantling the stuff.
