Recon does not honor their warranty on defective products. I purchased a set of ill. fender emblems from them last jan. and they had a defect and went bad. I called them and they told me to call back in 4-6 mos. and they would have the replacements in stock. I called them back later and they said they were not available and they would not send me a refund, but I could get a discount on another product. So I bought another product and they did not fit properly so I called them and they said to send them back and I would get a refund. I sent them back and 2 months later still no refund. I called and spoke to the very rude staff and owner after being on hold for 15 min. and was told there would be no refund but I could purchase another product. Well I have paid for 2 products already that I do not have, so it would be stupid to get anything else. Just be warned and do not buy their crap.

The owner is a total douchebag.

 

Only thing i bought from them are smoked roof lights, replaced all the bulbs though because a couple of them came broken. I think their stuff is extremely overpriced anyways

 

I was warned before I bought from them, I should have known better.

I sent the company an e-mail to check out this thread on this site and I got a call from the real owner today, the guy I spoke to on the phone was just a junior partner claiming to be the owner. He still refused to give me a refund, only issued a credit for one of his company products and by the way he owns k&n as well and a couple of other companies. I did not want a credit, just my money back because I am not crazy about their products or cutomer service but apparently that will not happen. (it is only $229.00) He apologized for the run-around and poor treatment and said he would do something about the customer service at recon, but that remains to be seen. They sent the credit through e-mail, I will update this later.

 

Have you tried the Better Business Bureau (file online at the one in the region where Recon does business)? If they can't help, then try the State Attorney General offices of your state and the state Recon does business in. Consumer advocates, such as the ones many TV stations have, may also be able to help you.

 

ive compared Recons stuff vs. other more generic off-shore aftermarket parts, and i cant see why they charge so much more...

the offshore stuff is basicly the same quality..

i'd never buy a Recon part..not when i can get it via Ebay for 1/3 the same cost for a VERY similar item.

 

Thats the a good lesson on how to NOT handle customers. Do they think that if people dont buy their products they still are in business? Idiots
