haha the **** out the window type gas mileage we all can relate to. i went to a swap meet yesterday and a guy had 2 351 Cleveland 4 barrel intake manifolds for $30. and some other guy was selling Ford quadrajets and 4100 carbs for $20. yall think i shoulda grabbed em?
I drive mine daily all year round. Front brake line burst last summer pullin off the highway and flipped it on the drivers side into some bushes. Got it back on the road, towed a chevy 40 miles home for its brakes. Fixed the brake lines and it was back on the road. Sucky situation but it's still my baby.
yeah i know. i woulda grabbed em but i thought there was something wrong with the fuel pump or sending unit so i didnt get them. but i did walk away with the FORD letters that go across the hood and F-150 custom badges all for $15 and they look great. but i got home and jugged my truck, hooked the lines up and it ran fine. im kickin myself for not gettin em but i didnt know my truck would run. good greif haha. gotta love the dentisdes tho
my papaw has a 300 in his 89 F-150 that has over 400,000 miles on it. still runs like a charm and doesnt burn a drop of oil. just needs a transmission.
My old man has a 76 dent that he drives daily in the summer. He was talkin' about sellin' it last year, but after driving it for a couple weeks he decided that it was still too good of a truck to get rid of.
i know ya gotta have a 78 with round headlights, but i think the square headlights look better with a blacked out grille, and headlight bezels. i don't know what it is about it. the 78 1/2 truck had square headlights. but mine was built early so it has round. but im changing it out
Round headlights on a '78 have nothing to do with the build date of your truck. It has to do with your truck bein' a Custom. In '78 the Ranger, Explorer, Ranger-XLT, Ranger Lariat (First Year For Ranger Lariat) Trim Packages all had (Except for Custom Trim Packaged Trucks) rectangular head lights. In '79 all Trim Packages got rectangular headlights. Your lucky your just a kid and don't know better.
The '74 F-250 Super-Cab is gonna be my daily driver when I can afford the gas.

All a 351M is a destroked 400. They are the same block, just a different bore and stroke.
