Yep. 31 spline axles also.

1980-1983? trucks had a option of the old 9", if I remember correctly.

And if memory serves me correctly, there was a funky axle something like an 8.25"? I can't remember the size right off hand though.

But yeah, yours' is an 8.8"

While getting something out from behind the seat of my truck I saw a piece of paper hanging out from the bottom of the back of my drivers seat. It was only half of the build sheet, I fished the other half out that had been cut by the seat frame. I don't know if they are always there but it might be easier to get than one from Ford.

So I called the number. 2007 through current model years has to go to fordshowparts.com There you can order a new window sticker at a cost of $25 + $10 S&H. I didn't want one that bad.

Can anyone help out a complete newbie who needs some information on his truck in order to help diagnose/repair his truck? 1FDKF37LXGPB09751 is the VIN on this machine, and when the "autoVIN decoder" (from this site) looks it up, they only see a Ford Styleside pickup.

You can decode (look up) both your VIN + Certification Label (and boatloads of other stuff, some in excruciating detail) as provided by the factory documentation, and Gary has spent a fair amount of time making a clickable, easy-to-use version:

VIN Decoding - ???Gary's Garagemahal

Certification Label - ???Gary's Garagemahal

Thank you! Finally figured out this is a carburetor equipped motor, not an EFI unit.
