1989 4.9 Issues

Ok let me start off by saying I'm not a ford guy I'm a dodge guy lol but there has been a 1982 f100 4.9 in my family since it was new it has never had any problems so when I had the opportunity to get a 89 with the 4.9 for next to nothing I couldn't turn it down.

The truck is a 1989 f250 with the 4.9 and it will turn over and hit the first few times then just turns over. I have replaced the little module on the side of the distributor and that didn't change it any. It started and ran for about 20 seconds once and then went back to the hit a few times and nothing.

Any ideas on what it could be?

Sounds like a fuel issue to me. Check to see if your pump is turning on? Or if you have pressure?

Fuel pump runs 2-5 seconds when you turn the key on and I tried some ether and it still didn't run.

Have you checked for weak spark? If it's hitting and it did run for 20 full seconds though doesn't sound like a spark issue....Computer issue maybe?

When it was running for that 20 seconds did it sound really far out of time?

I just got it home today I towed it behind my little 1964 dodge dart lol I will find more out tomorrow. I tried some ether and it still didn't do anything but it is getting spark to the plugs so I'm thinking the cheap plugs that are in it have went dead.
