Can someone post up info on replacing COPs

I just had my sparkplugs and boots changed about 1 1/2 weeks ago, just started misfiring (minimal compared to before, but annoying as hell). Hooked my scanner up and it said misfire on cylinders 1 and 3. So it looks like its time to buy a couple COPs.

Never delt with COP before or the v10 before this truck. Looked at them today (as best I could), and I see they have a screw holding them in. Is it as easy as unclipping them, unscrewing them and pulling out? Will I have to replace the boots? Anything I need to remove to get out of the way to make this easier?

I prefer tutorials when doing things for the first time. I'm definately not too mechanically inclined, but usually once I see (pictures and descriptions) I can do it. I'm a show me how to do it first type and I can pick up on it pretty quick.

Also, is this the correct order of cylinders?: (Found it on another site)
Pass Side Front Cylinder Is #1 Then 2,3,4,5. Drivers Side Front Is #6, Then 7,8,9,10

Anyone know of a place to get cheap Motorcraft COPs?

Sorry for all the questions...Oh and its a 03 v10

There is one small bolt holding the COP down. Remove the connector from the harness from the COP (carefully), remove the bolt and the entire COP, boot and spring assembly pulls out. Install the new COP in reverse order.

So I can use the boot/spring again? Or will the new COPs come with boots?

The new COP comes with a boot, don't know if it comes with the spring. If you just had the boots replaced the old boot should be good however since your having issues I would use the new boot. If the spring is in good shape reusing it is no problem. Just make sure the spring isn't deformed or damaged. Its possible the guy that changed your plugs and boots could have messed up the spring.

Be sure to put dielectric grease on the end of the plug and boot opening before you reinstall.

COP's

Future_LEO,

The cop's that I have purchased came with the boot and spring attached. The boot and spring can be purchased seperately because they tend to dry out and crack and cause misfire when the cop is still good. If your truck has over 100K miles, replace the whole thing.

I also had one set of plug go bad after just a few K miles.
