7000 lbs coils and spacers in F-350 ???

i have a 05 f350 powerstroke and i just installed tuff country 2.5 inch level spacers in the front coils. now it raised the front end but its still sits front end low a bit. i kind of want the front end a little higher maybe by an inch or so? it only has 5200lbs coils and ive read lots of ppl install the f550 7000lbs coils and love it. now i was wondering can i install 7000lbs coils with 2.5 inch spacer with no problems?? or do i need a drop track bar bracket ? is it really going to shift the front end over that much??? thanks alot if someone can give me some info!!

Welcome to FTE!

My 6.0 ran 6000# springs and spacers without a problem, but the front end was almost a full inch out of wack to the drivers side; get an adjustable trac bar (or a bracket, I'd prefer a new bar) and you'll be fine. I had 17x9 wheels with a pretty wide stance, and you could easily tell the front end wasn't centered across the truck.

I love my heavier coils, but I have a Ranch Hand front end replacement hanging off the front end.. My truck has a noticeably harsher ride than my dad's F250 with the 5200# coils and the 6.0 PSD. I've heard guys joke that you need a hard hat and a mouthguard with 7000# coils unless you have some pretty significant front axle loading, and I'd be inclined to agree. Don't upgrade the coils looking for extra height, only to handle a squatting problem from having a high FGAW. I looked into upgrading to 7000# coils, but only b/c the Ranch Hand I added squatted the front 1/2" and my backsiding problems on the driver's side tire got a lot worse (that was a backspacing issue on the wheels more than a lift problem). I ended up dropping from 35s on aftermarket wheels to 34s on factory wheels, and then I pulled the lift because the factory wheels pulled the tires in tight enough to stop my rubbing issues.

heyy thanks alot !! ok thats what i was thinking also. so you think i should go with an adjustable bar instead of the bracket?? so if i did go with the adjustable track bar how do i know when its adjusted right?? would i have to get another alignment?? ( thats what im trying to stay away from ) and i was going to ask , has anybody ever used like a skyjacker 3 inch coil spring instead of going with the ford coils?? thanks again for the info!

Hey man, sorry I missed your reply. I don't want you thinking we're ignoring you on your 2nd post.

Trac bar vs bracket- I'm a fan of the new bar, since it's infinitely adjustable within it's range. The bracket is a "run what ya brung" setup, since it's obviously a hunk of steel and non-adjsutable. You know it's right when your axle is centered across the truck, not sticking out of one wheel well more than the other.

A lot of guys use 2-3" replacement coils, they're a very popular choice. Replacement springs are more desirable than spacers from the perspective of flexibility and ride comfort, but they cost more, so it's a trade-off either way. There's a ton of treads on "leveling kits" on here, so just search for that and you should get a lot of reading material to help you out.
