I am not sure.. LOL.. Remember those Magic Mushrooms.. they made some for the car too.. problem is, smelled like budwieser.. Good way to get a DUI! LOL!
I remember when those things first came out...they were packaged in the same plastic that cigarette boxes came in, (I believe they called it cellophane), but you were not supposed to remove them from the wrapping, as they were coated in oil, and whatever that got on, turned that spot a light purple, brown, or pink color that the only way to remove it was to cut that part out! Some people would set them on the dash in the sun and it would turn that into a nasty mess, and you could never get that smell out of the car!
What gets me about that cellophane packaging is that the directions always said to cut the packaging just a little at a time, and pull the freshner through. Of course this went through like a months worth of progression of cut, pull, hang... Thats too much to remember and keep track of! LOL!
My dad told me a story of when he purchased his Torino and found damn near 20 of those green ones scattered throughout.....said the smell never quite came out of the damn thing, lol.
