check gauge light & tow hual light flashing
#3
Happened to me once. A v. short while later the transmission temp gauge on the dash spiked up into the red. It turned out to be a little plastic sensor part in the transmission that had malfunctioned.
It cost $200+ to fix if I remember ... $170 for the part I think.
The guy raised the truck, drained and dropped the tranny pan, swapped out the part with a quick pull and click, reassembled and I was on my way ... 15 mins later.
That's when I decided I needed to learn how to do more of this stuff myself.

If your transmission starts hesitating to shift along with the temp gauge buried hot or cold, it a sign that the TFT sensor went bad in the trans. It's a minor fix by removing the trans pan to get at the sensor and the jobber cost for a new TFT sensor was $43 and retail was about $80 a year ago.

Thanx all for the posts. I had the symptoms where my Tow/Haul light was flashing & my Trans Temp gauge would just drop to below zero after about 5-10 minutes of driving. After searching these forums I figured the TFT sensor became defective. Since I was dropping my pan anyway I replaced the Trans Sensor (BC3Z-7H141-A @ $16.56), internal Filter (3C3Z-7A098-AA @ $37.56) & the remote Filter (3C3Z-7B155-BA @$44.71) Total cost from my local dealer w/ discount came out to $83.82. Yeh, that sensor which I've seen on the forums running between $68-85 was now $16. Going strong with no buzzers or bells happening for about 3 weeks now.
This is a great forum and I mostly lurk but I couldn't hold back on how much it saved me in both money and time.
Again thanx to all for sharing.
