I've seen $3.35-$3.45 in southwestern NH. Unleaded is $3.09. Guess I'll be driving my winter beater a little more than usual this year.

Diesel used to go down in the summer and up in the winter due to heating oil usage. In other words, it works(or at least used to work) in reverse compared to gasoline usage. There are a little more variables in this then just the profit angle. I am not trying to mitigate that angle, but until the other angles can be controlled, at least a little more then what most people due, it's hard to just say greed.

Probably best to save the political stuff for Club FTE, where such discussion is allowed.

The op simply asked what price people are paying for fuel

3.05 in Tucson for the cheap stuff, have not seen or filled up recently at the good places, usually they are 20-25 cents more (but worth it in the end, at least to me). I do have friends with 6.0s and/or diesel pushers, and they always fill up at the cheap places.

I think that there are places that even have it worse then that. Hard to imagine, but I think places like Turkey, Greece and the EU have even worse prices due to them trying to get people to use more public transit(which really won't work for the majority of the US here, my home town was actually built around the idea of public transit, so it works to an extent(DART)), and also the EU is really into the Global Warming ideology as well.

3.69gal in Riverside CA...

Last week I read an article that an Ex Shell Executive said to expect gasoline...GASOLINE to be at or over $5.00/gal in 2012. If that holds true that puts diesel in California at 5.50-5.75/gal.

This is just the start guys hang on to your shorts. Remember the last go round we were at 2.50-3 bucks a gallon and someone said they will get us use to 3-3.50 a gallon since we are all bitching. Once we got comfy they would shalack us again.... Here it comes the light at the end of the tunnel and it's not daylight.....

Not only that, but my education and work life has been spent in Agriculture, so that puts me in a little better position then most to know how trading happens on the CME(my grandfather did that as well, mainly for corn and cotton futures though).

Is the greed angle there? Bet your *** it is. Is it as clear cut as you like to think that it is? No. Very little in life is as clear cut, black and white as people would like to think that it is.

Think what you want though, you're going to anyway.
