5.4 vs the v10 any big difference's?

Hodges, I'm not trying to start an arguement or poop storm here, but I think you need to recheck some of your facts. Specifically in terms of the spark plug issues... on both the 4.6L and 5.4L the problem was prominent with the aluminum heads. On the SD's this problem was remedied with PI heads, but then again the 90% of the time the spark plug issue was due to improper service procedure... meaning people either treated their plug changes like a cast iron head or did not tighten them enough.
Also, one thing I'm not sure you addressed or considered is the difference between half ton 5.4L's and the SD 5.4L's... engine is fundamentally the same however there are major differences. For starters the tunes, CAFE, and Emissions standards all apply to the half tons, and CAFE does not apply and looser emissions standards to the SD's.
Lastly, your information seems dated specifically to the 99-2002 era... check out the tech specs from 03-04, then compare all the 3-Valve motors. Based on every mod motor I've ever messed with or taken apart a 5.4L is a stroked 4.6, and a V10 is 2 cylinders added on to a 5.4. Bore, stroke, even compression ratio thru 2004 is identical on 5.4L and 6.8L, and bore is same on 4.6L and 5.4L. 8 holes and a common bore (90.2mm) leave only one other parameter for displacement alterations...

I think I made a comment saying the 97 to 02 series especially the 97 to 99 motors, I also said that in 05, they were basically good all around. As I said in the later post, it doesnt matter anyways for the 5.0 is back and will eventually take the 4.6/5.4 out for the most while only using them in a small selection. Also, Ford themselves through their TSB's and others stats have shown the the 5.4 alone was the main engine with the spark plug issue, for this, I feel along with other example the 4.6 and 5.4 although in the same engine family are two different motors by many mean especially the 97 to 02 series.

Of course with today's technology the 5.0 is going to have some changes and for it being misleading, that is just how some may want to take it but none the least the 5.0 is back and thats is as plain as it can be told.

yeah, the v10 costs more to maintain, weighs more, sounds like a retarded turd if ya put any kind of exhost on it,......let me put it to u like this,2 5.4s knocked boots while on crack over by the nuclear wast site and gave birth to a v10,just like things grow extra fingers and such......yup a v10 is an abomitation, just sayin
