BTW what are the advantages of that upies?
The bellowed up-pipes allow them to flex and expand/contract with the heat, giving a better seal than the stock design with the brass donut gaskets.

Yep, with bellowed uppipes you will eliminate the leaky donut gaskets.

Funny. I forgot that post on the airbag.
Well to answer your question, she still doesn't know it is missing.

To answer your question... just get the H2e kit with the 3" Y-pipe and all is well. LOL

Fuel bowl is now gone and twin pumps are in there now but you get the pic.

Glenn, is your intake spider not 3" going into the plenums? You should be able to use a 3"x3" boot from the E99 spider to the 3" plenums.

Neal, your H2E kit looks much better than the H2E kit I have messed with for the SD's. The pipes sucked a lot. Thats the kit that convinced me to not get an H2E kit and go with T4 stuff and build my own piping.

Lookin' good Glenn. Hopefully this solves some of your problems that you were having. Unless you already solved the whole turbo not lighting problem you ran into..

Travis, the early 99 spyder is 2 3/8" going to the plenums

Hmmmm... Mine looks like it necks down more than 3/8", but I believe you. That makes for quite an ordeal... Off to research!!

These are silicone so they are not compatible w/ oil or fuel and they are only 2 ply, but they may work for you.. http://www.turbohoses.com/transitionmultiply.htm

Also silicone, but thicker(4 ply) than the above boots. should be able to stretch them the extra 1/8": http://www.extremepsi.com/store/cust...at=1535&page=1

Falcon, the stock design had regular donuts, not the brass ones. I didn't have any luck with the brass ones.

Travis, thanks a lot for those links! Everytime I check your links I end up spending money, LOL

Neal, that's one sweet looking setup you have. So, the next ton of money I spend should be the H2E.

Richard, Good to see you back, stick around. When I pulled my turbo I couldn't believe the slack I had in the up pipe gaskets, and the soot on the firewall that you can probably see in the picture. My engine needs a bath! If this doesn't solve some of my problem then I must have bigger problems some place else!!

I'm afraid your right Darin and Jose about the measurements.

I checked out those links Travis, some good stuff there, thanks again. I've been thinking though, if I have 3" intakes why not make a 3" spider. How hard would it be to make one?

Well, it's not too hard to make a 3" spyder, BUT IMO it's not going to make any difference. 2 3/8" is still larger than the D66 outlet is and it's not like your going to lose tons of flow going from 3" to 2 3/8" back up to 3", but you could certainly build it 3" and be done.

The only sucky part is that you can't get the spider nice a smooth using regular stainless pipe like the H2E spider is. See how the H2E spider is a 3" 90* into what looks like another 3" 90*? Do that with some 3" pipe, but it doesn't quite line up perfectly from what I can tell. OR you could get yourself a L99-2003 spider and chop the side that V-bands to the turbo off, and have a spider that looks just like the hypermax spider.

With some tubing and a welder it shouldn't be too hard to fab something up...

That's what I was thinking Falcon. Travis, I just went outside and measured the ID of the D66 and its only 2". So, I agree that would not get me any gains. Two 2" intakes are sharing one 2" output so what difference does it make. I like that idea of the 99-03 spider idea. I guess I'll tell my wife I want a H2e for Christmas, its only 3K, HAHA. She's a good woman, I'm sure she will understand. Neal's engine sure looks sweet!! Makes me want to go for it. I'll run with what I got until next winter and see then if I can upgrade. Maybe a used one will show up. Thanks again and again. PS, I try to get all my parts together before a project and something is always missing. I'm waiting on the pedestal O rings and the turbo output O ring. Then I can get it together.

Heck, I think I'd just find the L99-03 spider and chop off the part that goes to the turbo outlet.. As long as you have the injectors you do, the D66 is all you will ever need. The H2E would probably be laggy as heck on your truck unless you step up to like stage 2's or something.

With those leaks I had I really don't know what the D66 will do. I've had it for almost a year now and I hope it will impress me. I'll have to keep my eye out for a L99-03 spider, that's a good idea you have.
