Newbie with <25 Posts - What's this 66 f250 worth?
Hey guys,
I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this here. I don't have my 25 posts to be able to put my truck for sale so I had to list it on ebay. Would someone look at the pics and tell me if my price is right? I would like to get 4 for the truck, but its hard to tell what the value really is. If I can't get the 4 I guess I will be keeping it.

Welcome fatboy,,, nice lookin Slick,,, I would venture that you are about right on your reserve as a selling price,,, you should be happy if you get over about 2800 or so,,, things just aren't sellin right now due to the doofuses in washington and all the problems they have caused. That being said, it is a nice truck and does have AC so if you don't have to sell it, I would just keep your reserve and wait, but if you do need to sell it, you should be able to fetch 2800 or so,,, put it on craigslist also.

Really???
Just kicking in my $2. Two cents due to inflation....
Hagerty insures my 66 250 for 17 grand...
Granted It is frame off resto but I think I would be hard pressed to find a decent beater truck for $2500.00 in Maryland.
Heck I would purchase it If I did not already have one.

I'd go to $2600 if I was buying it...even in completely restored condition, these trucks could rarely fetch more than 10Grand...they are just not that valuable (except to their owners!)
Most guys try to sell their resto'd trucks for 15-20K and they are dreaming. I see lots of them for sale in this inflated range, and they never sell. Nobody cares about the labor you put into it unfortunately. As far as insuring it for 17Grand, that only means higher premiums. Someone buying this truck may plan to restore it, so that means they'll be sinking a bunch of dough into it, so they aren't going to pay that much. Anyone looking to get it for a daily driver is also going to pay only a medium price. Take my opinion for what it's worth, but I think if you got 2600 to 3Grand, you'd be doing all right.

Greetings cropduster man.
Look up Hagerty Insurance on line they ONLY insure antique vehicles.
My yearly cost is 163.00. 17 grand coverage...
This is an agreed value between them and me. I sent them pics they agreed with me as to value
I pay less for my antique truck and my motorcycle both with full coverage.
Than I do for my 11 year old mini van Yes I own a mini van

I tried to get Hagerty to insure mine - had them for an old '50 Buick last year, but they said they would not cover my 66 F250 unless I never put ANYTHING in the bed of the truck except chairs to sit on at car shows, had to keep it locked in an enclosed garage overnight, and had to show not only full coverage on all my other vehicles with my primary insurer, but would not insure the truck for any less limits than those policies. Had to move elsewhere for coverage that suited my intended use of the truck... put it with the same people who insure MY minivan.
Anyway - I agree with >$3K though it looks like it is in better shape than the one I just bought for $2600 - just wait for your motivated buyer.

Thanks for the input guys. I was hoping the truck would bring more, but if it won't I'll just keep it. It's a great driver but the mpg is not very good as you'll all know. I guess I could try to find a 4.6 and OD tranny to get the mileage good enough to use as a daily driver. Maybe I could find someone wanting to trade a 65 Ranchero for it. I love those things.
