Shopping? What's that?

Well, since it finally rained here (I mean a real rain) in Las Vegas all day yesterday, I now found out my frickin' truck leaks! The driver's side rear seat & seat back are soaked. :-( Plus, when I left the bowl game last night and got in the truck this morning, my windows were all fogged up...on the INSIDE. It sucks!!!!

I looked last night and it looks like the top weather stripping is cut in two places. I'm guessing this would be the cause for the leak. Plus, when I bought the truck, the door/rear door weather stripping was coming off and I asked them to glue it back into place before I picked up the truck (which they did), but now I'm wondering if it was done right. :-( Any suggestions? If you all need pics, I can take some tomorrow and then start a new thread.

Thanks...and Happy Christmas Eve Eve to everyone. LOL

Another drive by posting. Boy it's getting dangerous here in Nevada

Good evening everyone. I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays. I finally have my new tank installed on my truck. I had to re-use the old pump though. When I change the pumps I am going to pull the bed off first. It is easier than dropping the tanks. To me anyway

Good afternoon everyone. I can't call merry christmas because I am not feeling much in the way of christmas spirit. I was told last night that all pit employees will be losing a day of work and some of the part time employees are going to be let go to make room for the student work visa workers. This is going to put me right back into the hole that I was almost out of.

Merry Christmas Nevada.
Sorry to hear your news Jeff. "student work visa workers" I not sure I understand what they are but it sounds like a case of American workers being made to step aside for foreign workers. Which to me sounds like a bunch of crap. That is just one more reasons we want out of this State. "CASINO" If your drop the C & O what do you have?

Good morning everyone.

Craig, the student work visa program is an extension of the foreign work visa program. It was designed to give work visa's to foreign workers when there are not enough local workers available or for jobs that locals workers do not want. In a good economy it is a good idea. The problem is that employers are abusing the program and filling jobs that locals do want so that they get tax break.

It boils down to this, in the late '80's and the '90's we were exporting jobs over seas because labor is cheaper. Now we are importing employees for tax cuts.

I do not blame the students who take advantage of the job availability. Most of them are decent people. I lay the blame on the companies that bring them in and the government officials who allow it.

Now that my rant is vented I have a favor to ask. If anyone goes to a wrecking yard could you please locate a brake/clutch pedal assembly out of a '92 to '96 F-series truck for me. I am having trouble finding one locally for this year range. I want to try and get my auto transmission swapped out for the ZF5 that is waiting to go in. Thank you in advance.

I just got back from Nevada Pick A Part in Las Vegas, and I couldn't find any clutch/brake pedals for a 92-96 truck. There aren't very many 92-96 trucks there, maybe 3 or 4 and they were all automatics. I'll keep my eye out for them. Let me know if you find one so I don't waste any money on one if i should find one.

Jeff, yea I'm with you I don't blame the students one bit. But you know when corporate America took over the Casino business it has been a downward slide for Nevada IE (the people.) Growing up in Nevada when the mob had the casinos things were much much better. They didn't allow their employees to gamble in the casino they worked. & if they had a family & were gambling in other casinos they were told that their pay checks needed to go home & support their families. You couldn't drink in the casino you worked. Again if you were out in other casinos drinking you got called on it. If you didn't straighten out you could get fired. The mob supported education in Nevada. Nevada had a much better education system then.
My Dad was a big boss in the casinos under the old ways. They paid good. Food was first class & cheap. on & on.
My Dad went to work for Del Webb in Lake Tahoe, he was in charge of setting up all the gaming. He worked for Del Webb for 6 months & walked away from the Casinos forever. Del Webb was the beginning of corporate America taking over gaming.
I think it is real sad as I have said before that Nevada has taken the path it has. After both my wife & I growing up & living most of our lives in Nevada that we are so discussed that we no longer want to live there. Nevada is 50th in the Nation in Education. What good teacher wants to work in an education system that is the worst in the nation. It is sad. One thing is that the Casinos are anti American education. But because they get BIG MONEY BREAKS they support foreign education.
Enough of my rant also.

Craig
