whats dose it take to get a truck form texas reged in cali

i have a chance to buy a idi for texas 2500 but was wondering what it would take to get i legal in cali

What year is it? I think diesels past a certain age don't need to be smogged tested. Other than that, you will have to get it weighed and then register it as a commercial vehicle, which costs more than regular vehicles.
New Vehicles or Vehicles Never Registered in California

Yep, he's got no trouble there, 97 & older dont need smog. You'll need it to be brought to a DMV also, they have to see the emissions sticker.

the thing is it has a 6.9 imstead of 7.3 with had cavtion

I suggest you find a valve cover from the appropriate year and put that in the 6.9, or wherever they put the sticker.

ive got 2 sets of 7.3l valve covers. 90 and 92
