Needing info on cheapest way to rebuild 5.4 3v
Okay so my dream truck was a 2004 F150 King Ranch so I buy me a 2004 F 150 Lariat LOL. As I was driving home after purchasing the truck the engine locked on me. So I open it up and I had a snapped piston rod. I searched online for about 5 months for a cheap used motor I found one in Dallas Texas for $1,000 with A3 month guaranteed warranty. After I installed it in the truck literally within 3 minutes I can hear like a rattling scraping sound sounded like it was coming from the flywheel and then I heard a clinking sound coming from the bottom in then it then that engine locked. So now I'm desperately in need of help. I want to know if there is a cheap way to where I can rebuild my engine without having to buy everything brand new. Mind you that warranty that I supposedly had the yard I got it from will not acknowledge it. I've been searching the threads here and I haven't been able to find a rebuild forum yet but if there's any of you out there with some advice it would be greatly appreciated I love my truck and I want to bring it back to life

Try here
5.4 2004-2009 FORD SOHC CAM 3-VALVE TRITON LONG BLOCK ENGINE - Advanced Engine Exchange
and here
Ford 5.4L Rebuilt engines available online from PowerSource
I think this is the cheapest way to get a remanufactured engine with a warranty.
By the time you buy all the parts you need you will have spent way more than either of these places are asking for a complete motor.
