Rear end shakes when engaging clutch in reverse
Ok I have an 82 F-100 just had whole drivetrain front to back replaced. I recently had a new ring and pinion installed. After the new gears were installed i started noticing a whine from the rearend and also the truck shakes violently in reverse. Are these two problems related? The shop that installed the gear is going to warranty the ring and pinion. If a ring and pinion is bad will it cause a shaking when engaging the clutch in reverse? The rearend i noticed has alot of play with the gears that are in there now.Clutch, pressure plate and flywheel are also new.
Thanks

Take a large screwdriver or pry bar and pry on the motor mounts and the tranny. A bolt could have been forgotten when it was put together. Make sure you do not have any leaks around the clutch area, oil on the clutch can make it jumpy. Otherwise, I would suspect the rearend, especially since it only happens in reverse.
