In my mind, a dead PCM won't see ICP or RPM, and therefore will not command the IDM to fire. I guess it depends on how the PCM dies. Pull the PCM out of the truck and stick 12v on the IPR and I wouldn't expect it to start. Wouldn't a dead PCM be the same?

I agree ,if it can't read ICP

I guess it depends on which circuit in the PCM was dead ...

well i havent been able to start my freaken truck and its gettin on my nerves. i have been scanning it with a snap-on modis scanner and the data shows 0 on the ipc, should it be like this or should it show different when i crank it. does this mean the used pcm i put in is no good? i have changed the ipc with a couple of used ones but still nothing.

shows zero ICP while cranking? put a mechanical guage on it to make sure just for fun. Does IPR DC% rise while cranking? sure sounds to me like you need a known working PCM..

It is telling you the PCM is calling for ICP pressure ,but the IPR is not responding .

Or , you have a massive internal high pressure oil leak ...

Does it rise to about 50 % ?...

Well the IPC (v). Shows 0.21 with the key on and there is a InjCtrlPr (kPa) that shows 0 with key on and while cranking

Look for IPR DC % (duty cycle percent)while cranking . ICP pressure at the same time ...

The IDM won't fire the injectors until the PCM sees aprox 500 PSI ICP . No Pressure or low pressure , the IDM sits quietly waiting ....

Where is shooter when you need him ?...

We may have to hook you up with a gauge to verify the IPR , then we can rule out a few electrical items . The PCM & IDM both need to be verified as good , since they were replaced. Or they need to be installed in another PSD ,(one component at a time) to see if they are any good . ...

To OP , have you tested all of the fuses & Relays in the power distribution box?

Have you( carefully) tested for 12 volts at the IPR ( key On ) A test light will do ...You can do it at the main harness on the rt side of the fuel bowl too (main 12 harness) .

Had to re-read the post.....

So, a new CPS,
PCM came from a "known" working truck?
IDM apparently buzz checked good...

I would go the 0-5000psi gauge route and dead head the HPOP to verify that #1) IPR is working or intermittent or stuck/bad...and #2) confirm HPOP is good.......before I spend time and money on a HPOP.

Gauge set-up may cost $60.00 and a day's time, but you'll have it for ever.
But at this point, need to Confirm/verify without a doubt, what's working.
...I take it the engine was working fine, until the PCM/Chip removal? if so, I doubt the HPOP failed at the same time...
