V10 engine spec's please
I would guess its probably already here somewhere, not looked, but I'm looking spec's on the 6.8L V10 engine.
I have a 98, 275hp model in a 99 motor home & wondering what it was Ford did to raise the HP in the newer models up to 310HP.
Cams, throttle body, injectors ?? what did Ford do.
Is there a thread or a site I can go to got an exploded view on the engine.
Thanks, Neil

I don't have much info on 5 star but I have only heard good stuff. They are a sponsor here. Do a search. The 4 thread plugs were used up to about 2002 when they went to full threads. 4 threads is enough as you will find out Bill did a test where he torqued some plugs to failure and the plug broke at about 100 ft-lb. The head was still ok. Most of the problems are the plugs unscrew because they were never tight enough or they worked out over time. There are enough threads but no room for screw ups. I think they went to 3 valve heads on the V10 in 2005. I don't know if you can update to the 3 valve heads or not but if you can you will need an updated PCM flash.
I just bought a Scangauge II which acts as a gage and a scanner. It will display 4 gages at a time and it is programable. I bought it to keep an eye on transmission temps. I had some trouble with the first unit but they sent me a replacement and I think it is going to be ok. They are not cheap but when you compare $50 a pop for standard gages and your truck starts looking like the cockpit of a 747 it is cheap.
