Hello everyone who reads this one. This one isnt for any help or ideas, its just to pass along a situation that I ran across. I bought this 98 Exp. around April of this year and had a few problems but nothing that I thought couldnt be fixed. As I went through it and fixed the brakes with new rotors and pads, replaced the muffler, I was still having a powerless 4.6 and knock like hell under load. Gas mileage to mention was bad too, way worst than the norm. I now I did this later than I wanted but I went and did the plugs and wires and was shocked to see that bosch platinum 4s were in there. After some new motorcrafts and wires, I gain all the power back, mpg is back to the norm. After speaking with a mechanic at a local dealership, he claimed that the bosch 4 plugs are terriable for the ford v8s even when new. The check engine light has not come on since the change and Im just happy living in the northeast(mountain territory), I am not pinging like hell going up hills of different inclines.
