What have you done to your truck today?
Changed oil/filter, put new front shocks on, new Power Steering belt, rotated and balanced tires. My passenger side windshield wiper quit working all of a sudden, so I've got to look into that. I also want to change the universal joints. The old '83 is coming back to road worthiness a little more with each new thing I do to it.
As for what I've done to or with the truck, nada. Oh, wait! I leaned the broom against it while I swept up the stuff I got off the floor. Does that count?
I need the vent windows as well since mine are crusty, so I might pick those up too.
I'm investigating the door panels to get an idea of what will be needed in that area. Short answer is new doors. PO has torn up the speaker mount areas to fit 6x9 speakers. It was very poorly done. I know LMC has new shells, but any ideas what it should run from a junkyard? Replacement door panels and map pockets are a must. Probably wind up redoing both doors completely. Pics will follow later.
Still need to acquire the ARP head bolts and Flowtech header gasket before I attack the leaking head.

What I did to my truck today? painted half of it!
I only got one mess up in the blue on the top of the cab, bumped the air line on the top and filled it in after I had sprayed the final coat on the roof, and some ran down the back. Should be able to wet sand that out and buff it just fine. As far as the tailgate, it looks really good. Looked flawless on the first coat, but the plastic I was using flipped up on it and messed it up a bit. I was able to save it and it looks very good, now to see those marks the plastic made, you'd have to be eagle eyeing it really good. With your face 6" from the tailgate. They just look like small sand scratches. Overall, turned out really good. Just have to do the blue on the tailgate in the morning. For anyone who cares, I used a $10 harbor freight HVLP gun and Sherwin Williams single stage urethane paint, their Dimension line.

I hope the yards around here run that price. I don't want to have to spend what LMC wants for door shells.
Definitely looks better all one color and matching now! it's not a perfect job, but certainly good enough. Any imperfections, you have to eagle eye them and be very close to see them, and know what to look for. All the prep work paid off.
Not going to clear coat it, it's just single stage paint like the rest of the factory paint on the truck is. As far as painting the letters, I'm going to do that in the spring, for a short project. Or just buy the decal kit for it. I have a lot of other things to work on around here that have been breaking down lately, this truck is needed for transportation right now. I haven't been able to drive it in a week and a half, I get my new 3G alternator tomorrow from UPS. Finally, I've needed the truck 3 times. But, the letters will be painted at some point.
