Got the roof on the truck stripped today, ripped all the old seam sealer out and re sealed the drip rails. Hopefully I'll get it in primer tomorrow morning.

I am pretty sure my head gaskets leaked, probably due to bad bolts and a fried torque wrench. I'm going to pull the engine back out and re do the head gaskets. Any idea where to find that carb-mount lift point as seen on Velocity shows like Overhaulin' and All Girl Garage?
I bought one of those mounts for lifting the engine right off the shelf from Oreillys. I was a bit hesitant at first since I had an aluminum intake but it was fine with studs.

That sounds like fun!

I think I'd want AC though.
I could see myself using it a lot more on aluminum than steel.

I thought about an AC-DC unit but for now, I just need DC. Down the road I may spring for a Miller Diversion but the little DC 200 is fine for now.

Hi-Freq start, foot pedal (not the greatest but it has it), dual voltage. All good..

I was doing some practice using MIG wire (doubled and twisted) as filler rod. Not too bad, but not as easy to feed as regular filler rod.

That reminds me.. I need to clean the shop..

If you have the hang of gas welding TIG should not be difficult to pick up.

You'll find it a lot easier when you get some real rod.
Your gas supplier or even Fastenal should have E70s2 or something similar.

Drove up to Melfa and bought a newer, better condition camper shell for $45.

Ok, Jim, here they are. The reason I have a camper shell, it keeps stuff in the bed protected and somewhat hidden.

It is nice to keep out the weather, and prying eyes.

Slow and steady with those 16' king posts.
I know how awkward a triple 2x6 can be when you're on wheels.

Got ready to primer the top of the cab, and then it rains and thunders like hell froze over. Have to keep it covered up until it's not going to rain for 6 hours.
