California Dealership Loads Up Transit for Homeless Vets
Riverside, California dealership Raceway Ford is getting in the holiday spirit for our veterans by loading up the massive storage area of a 2015 Ford Transit van and delivering those goods to a homeless shelter for veterans.
Operation Silver Star is part of the program that will distribute the goods to the homeless shelter for veterans this holiday season. As you can see, they are taking advantage of the Transit’s 246.7 cu/ft of cargo space for blankets, socks, candy canes, and more goodies.
In addition, Operation Silver Star is hosting a holiday party for veterans and their kids on Friday, and Raceway Ford is donating goods to that as well.
Finally, they’re collecting toys for the Riverside Fire Department as part of of their annual holiday toy drive. Based on their latest updates, they are receiving a lot of community support for their collection drive.
One of the reasons why dealership organizations are fighting Tesla’s direct sales model is that they believe they won’t give back to the community the way that Raceway Ford, and other dealerships, are this holiday season.
While we aren’t sure if that would actually be the case, we like seeing dealerships like this reach out and help the community, especially homeless veterans.
