This 1982 F150 4x4 belongs to Chris Mercer (chris.mercerauxserv1.unco.edu)
It started out its life as a 150 4x4 with a I-6 & SROD 4 speed. It has gone through LOTS of changes since then. The I-6 has been replaced by a 400M and backed by a NP435 4 speed. The entire front clip sheetmetal was replaced as was the bed. Then the custom paint was applied. The seat was upgraded with a bench from a 92 F-150 XLT. Heavy-duty custom bumpers were fabricated front and rear, along with the headache rack. A 4" Trailmaster suspension lift and 33" Super Swampers were installed to add a little clearance under the diffs. Now, 2 years later, it is going through another reformation. A Dana 70 has been installed under the rear, housing a 4.10 gearset. The IFS front was replaced by a leaf sprung solid Dana 44. The Steering was converted to crossover to help control the 33's. A 460 is in the process of being built to take the place of the 400 between the frame rails. The bed is being replaced with a flatbed to help reduce the height problem with pulling a trailer.
