There is nothing more satisfying than about seeing a vehicle being restored from start to finish. That is, until you see this truck, restored to something even more glorious than it ever was before.

Ford F-100 Light Duty Truck

The Ford F-100 is part of the F-series "light duty truck" manufactured by Ford. They were manufacturing these since 1948 and created many variations. The Ford F-Series has been the best-selling vehicle in the United States since 1981 and the best-selling pickup since 1977. Today, older models in good condition is a rare find, but older models in completely restored condition can be like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

A boy and his truck

This particular F-100 shares a rich history of lineage from being Heath Taylor's grandfather's car to his father's to becoming his very own. When the original motor gave out, it sat for a long time before Heath and his father restored it. When life got too busy for Heath, the truck served another harsh sentence under the earth's rain and sun. When Heath gathered enough money to finally restore it properly, the vehicle was transformed into something better than its original glory.

H.A.C.K. Shack

Enter H.A.C.K. Shack, a restoration shop in Arkansas. The latest owner of the truck wanted it restored from the ground up and by these images alone, it's clear that he came to the right place. An improved braking system that includes four discs and a single master cylinder were fitted. Along with that DJM drop beams, spring leafs and shocks were fitted to the chassis. To finish the stance, a set of Foose Nitrous wheels were stuffed under all four corners.

BCD Motorsports

Heath Taylor's desire to keep the truck's original motor in mind was taken into consideration by the good guys at BCD motorsports while they took the liberty of completely revamping the motor to true show quality finish with plenty of grunt for the growl. The motor was bored and honed to accept higher compression pistons, COMP hydraulic cam rollers, dual headers, Magnaflow exhaust systems and more.

Inner elements

When Heath Taylor decided to have this truck restored from the ground up, he wasn't kidding. Neither were the folks at H.A.C.K. Shack, BCD Motorsports or Chuck at Cassat Upholstery. They re-trimmed the leather to brand new and added sound-proofing and carpet to keep the cabin calm and cozy. There was also a neat air conditioning system with digital display installed compliments of Vintage Air and Dakota Digital.

Exterior elements

The years of sun and rain had taken a good beating to the once beautiful paint. It was restored by painter Ken Barr. The colors of choice were PPG Frost Turquoise and the roof in PPG Wimbledon White. LMC Truck of Kansas provided the grille, bumpers, and moldings original from the Ford truck catalog. For a touch of class, the truck bed steel floor was covered in Brazillian Koa wood.

Finished product

Not only was this truck restored to its former glory, it was transformed into a work of art that had never been intended by Ford in the first place. New life has been breathed into this truck by Heath Taylor's great taste and the capable hands of the many involved who turned out such a stunning head turner. So much so, in fact, that the truck won 1st place in its class at the 2017 Detroit Autorama
