Insane Ranger Prerunner Packs V8 Power and Raptor Looks
The owner of this wild Ranger prerunner sunk a whopping $350,000 into the build.
Big Money Build
Lately, prerunners have become all the rage as more and more people look to get off-road. Many of these builds are completed on tight budgets, though turning a road-legal truck into a high-flying desert dominating machine isn't exactly cheap by any means. However, we've never seen anything quite like this wild Ford Ranger prerunner, whose owner sunk a whopping $350,000 into, as he explains in this video from Autotopia.
Start Small
Money was clearly no object when the owner of this Ranger, a fellow named Rob, decided he needed a fun off-road toy. The whole thing started when Rob's brother-in-law offered to sell him his stock yet somewhat worn out Ranger for a mere $1,200, and he obviously jumped at the chance. However, today, little of that old work truck remains.

Luxury Prerunner
Since this is a "luxury" prerunner build, it features a full interior - not some stripped-down race truck cabin. It's actually a rather attractive interior at that, with embroidered seats, lots of tan materials covering a custom dash and center console, and everything one might need to keep tabs on what's going on outside, including a vast array of gauges.

Serious Equipment
The Ranger rides on a custom chassis that features Fox shocks and some extreme suspension travel - 20 inches up front and 28 inches in the rear. Six-piston Wilwood brakes with 14-inch discs slow the rig down, which is important considering that it now weighs a hefty 6,200 pounds.

Blasphemous Choice
Rob did choose to go relatively cheap with his engine choice, which is an iron big-block Chevy that he happened to have sitting around already. Obviously, we'd rather see a Blue Oval mill under the hood, but this might be the world's only big-block Chevy-powered Ranger, anyway. Regardless, the old-school motor cranks out a decent 430 horsepower and displaces 460 cubic inches.

Sinister Looks
The exterior of this Ranger now looks less like a Ranger and more like an F-150 Raptor thanks to its custom body panels, which are supplemented by serious-looking tube bumpers, large rolling stock, and a pair of spares in the bed. It's a sinister-looking thing for sure.

Too Much?
While we're not sure we'd ever spend $350k on a build of any kind, there's no denying that Rob's Ranger prerunner is pretty awesome. And by the looks of things, it's pretty darn capable off the beaten path, too.
