Here's The Full-Size Bronco We all Want

These renderings make us wonder why Ford wouldn't want to make an SUV version of the F-150 Raptor.

Desirable Drawings

Though the 2021 Ford Bronco has received nothing but rave reviews thus far for its retro styling, many of us still pine for a return of the full-size Bronco, or at least the presence of a cool, off-road-focused full-size SUV from The Blue Oval. Currently, we only have the Expedition to choose from, but we'd much rather have this awesome 'ute based on the new 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor, which was recently drawn up by artist Oscar Vargas.

Easy Choice

This is an extremely simple idea that would also presumably be rather easy to make in real life, especially since the Expedition and F-150 share a platform. So why not build it? Off-road SUVs have arguably never been hotter than they are today, and the Raptor has been a big seller for Ford over the last several years.

Multi-Purpose

Surely, there are plenty of folks who covet the Raptor but need a little extra passenger and cargo space. This would give them exactly what they crave, all in a very usable package that could haul the family around and blast down desert trails at high speeds.

Light Roader

There's also plenty of room for such a rig in Ford's lineup. Currently, it has the compact Bronco Sport and mid-size Bronco filling the lower end of the off-road-focused SUV segment, but what about a bigger vehicle? Right now, the Expedition FX4 is about as close as we can get, but it's more of a light off-roader than a hardcore one.

Endless Possibilities

Ford doesn't have to integrate such a machine into the Bronco family, of course. It could simply choose to call it the Expedition Raptor, or something entirely different. Or, it could expand its Bronco family and offer one in each size for buyers to choose from. The possibilities here are quite simply endless.

Setting a Precedent

The concept of making a Raptor SUV is nothing new, either. Hennessey did it years ago with the first-gen F-150 Raptor when it created the VelociRaptor SUV, and that thing looked pretty awesome, too.

Too Good

Thus, the real question here is, why wouldn't Ford make such a vehicle? And we have no legitimate answers for that. Even if it simply chooses to upgrade the Expedition rather than try and elongate the Raptor, either way, this idea seems too good not to make a reality.
