Gateway Bronco Builds 1972 F-350 With Supercharged Godzilla V8
Gateway Bronco dips its tow into the vintage F-Series market in a very big way.
Into the Stratosphere
Even though it was built to serve as a reliable, low-cost diesel alternative for towing, Ford's 7.3-liter Godzilla V8 has since become a popular option among hot rodders. The pushrod powerplant is capable of making huge numbers with some simple modifications, and supercharging it takes those figures into the stratosphere. But this 1972 Ford F-350 built by Gateway Bronco for the 2021 SEMA Show has to be the coolest Godzilla-based vessel we've seen yet.

Reimagined Classic
This F-350 is Gateway Bronco's very first F-Series build, and it's a darn good one. "When we announced our intention to reimagine classic Ford trucks in 2020, we immediately received a commission to push the envelope by using the all-new 7.3L Ford Godzilla engine in the vehicle," said Seth Burgett, CEO of Gateway Bronco. "Once that challenge was made, the choice of who to work with on the build of this historic truck was easy, Harrop USA. When it comes to delivering performance and horsepower, Harrop is at the top of the list."

Four-Digit Power
While this is an amazing truck inside and out, the real story here is the truck's fortified Godzilla powerplant. The big mill has been fitted with the Harrop version of the Eaton Twin Vortices Series (TVS) Supercharger that's also utilized on the Mustang Shelby GT500, and makes well over 1,000 horsepower without breaking a sweat.

Modern Tech
That power is put to the ground via a six-speed transmission, a pair of Eaton ELocker performance differentials, and a custom 4-link suspension setup while modern tech like push-button four-wheel drive makes it a bit more pleasant to drive.

Perfect Combination
The owner of this amazing rig is a Porsche guy who already owns a restomod Bronco built by Gateway Bronco, so this truck also meshes those two worlds with its Porsche Miami Blue paint, accented by Wimbleton White. Lifted on a massive set of wheels and tires, this F-350 is the perfect combination of new and old.

Attention to Detail
Real reclaimed barn wood adorns the bed, while the rest of the body was left largely alone, though all the chrome and trim is in better than new condition. Obviously, builds of this quality don't come cheap and cost several hundred thousand dollars to acquire, but the attention to detail here is second to none.

World's First
"While our Godzilla won't breathe flames, it will lay them down," Burgett said. "Featuring the world's first Godzilla 7.3L engine with a Harrop USA Supercharger, and delivering over 1,000 horses, this first-of-its-kind, handcrafted truck will have SEMA attendees looking over their shoulder for the beast in the building."
