1. Pursuit Rated

Based on a 2018 Ford F-150, the pursuit-rated F-150 Police Responder pickup is built for rural police/sheriffs, fish-and-game authorities, and border patrol. In order to allow this truck to pursue crime at 100 mph, a bigger front stabilizer bar was fitted, and bigger brakes too. The crew cab police truck can carry more gear and officers than the Taurus or Explorer, and traverse more difficult terrain too.

2. Engine and Performance

The 2018 F-150 Police Responder truck is equipped with Ford's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 twin-turbo engine, which develops 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Those numbers are both bigger than what CHevy or Dodge offer in their V8 powered police vehicles. The trucks are also four-wheel drive, specifically for the demands of various rural government agencies, and police forces.

3. Built Tough

These trucks are built for abuse and designed for extreme conditions, more so than any other current police offering, from Ford or the competition. The F-150 pursuit rated truck features a full steel frame, which is designed to take whatever beating you throw at it, as well as protective skid plates, and FX4 suspension, allowing it good off-road ability.

4. Special Seating

Since these special edition trucks are built for government agencies, they receive some exclusive interior features too. The rear seats are covered in vinyl, which allow for easy and quick cleaning. The front seats, however, are made from special cloth with anti-stab plates inside, designed to protect the driver and passenger from anyone in rear seat. The specially designed front seats are also scooped out to allow more comfortable seating for officers wearing vests, and hold them in place better when cornering.

5. Special Features

The pursuit-rated F-150s are equipped with a special instrument cluster, and includes an engine hour meter. The shifter is located on the steering column to make room for shotgun storage rack, or computer console in the center. The entire electrical system is upgraded with a 240-amp alternator, which helps power all of the lights, sirens, and special equipment.
