Do No Wrong

Custom trucks are an exercise in taste. Do it wrong, and people will laugh at you. But do it right, and the spoils of your efforts will make you (and your truck) a celebrity. Few custom trucks, however, do everything right. I don't know about you, but for us, this gorgeous 1970 Ford F-100 that we spotted over at GR Auto Gallery can do no wrong.

Perfect Combo

The builder of this F-100 certainly took a risk by choosing to go with a custom paint job. Which, as we know all too well, can ruin an otherwise nice pickup. But the style and color choices here are top notch. The black and blue two-tone paint is a great combo, and we're also digging the silver stripes that break it up.

Solid Choice

The next exercise in excellence is this truck's rolling stock. Instead of going with some poorly matched modern styled wheels, the builder stuck with modest and classic aluminum pieces. And they're wrapped in beefy Mickey Thompson rubber that only makes this truck look even tougher than it already does.

Riding High

Of course, a massive lift of unknown origin helps clear those big old LT375/65/16 steamrollers. And it helps give this truck the kind of stance that truck guys love and hybrid drivers cower away from on the freeway.

Crowd Pleaser

There's nothing outrageous or out of the ordinary here, but that's kind of the point. It just proves that you don't have to go over the top to make a classic Ford truck truly shine, or stand out from the crowd.

Neck Snapper

And with a beefy rear bumper and hitch, we're betting this classic Ford can work just as good as it looks. Though we'd be happy to just cruise around in this black and blue bad boy and watch people strain their necks trying to get a better look at it.

Go and Show

While many of these old trucks lack the sort of basic options that make them easy to drive, that isn't the case here. This 4x4 F-100 is equipped with power steering and power brakes, so it'll turn and stop good enough to be liveable.

No Frills

Inside, you won't find any fancy amenities. Just a nicely redone cabin with an AM/FM radio and little else. But who needs all that frivolous extra stuff, anyway?

V8 Soundtrack

What really matters, aside from the gorgeous exterior, is what lies under the hood. And in this case, it's a 460 packing a Holley carb, Edelbrock intake, and dual exhaust. Who needs a booming sound system when you can just listen to this V8 soundtrack?

Running Cool

The whole thing should run great, no matter how hot it gets, thanks to dual electric fans and an aluminum radiator. Thus, this killer F-100 is truly a well-rounded truck. One with zero flaws, in our humble opinion!
