I too got the letter, and if mine fails I will go aftermarket "IF" I feel a need for it. This way I avoid the dealer and they won't flash my truck with new updates, lol.
I got it also. I believe some of the newer trucks had already had a similar program or recall. I’ve had my truck since early 2018 and the camera has been acting up intermittently since probably 2019. It didn’t bother me since it probably worked 90% of the time. I just use it to check immediately behind when beginning or finishing backing and it’s handy for hooking up. It’s only the second truck I’ve ever had that had one.
I’ll wait till the initial frenzy is over and parts are available and have them do it, might as well. Maybe they’ve improved the camera quality since 2017. I know my small town dealer well they won’t BS me.

The other recall was for the trucks with the 360 camera systems, where the backup camera view goes dark when the other camera views were also working.
Knock on wood, my 360 cameras work well. Issue for me is I rarely ever have the tailgate installed since the slide in TC resides in the bed 99% of the time.
