Truck died, was running great. Now crank, no start
Haven't had any issues with the truck for years.
Quick history, I shut it off the other day for 5 minutes it wouldn't start back up. Then after about 20 minutes it started again. I towed 100 miles since then, no issues. The oil was pretty low so I added some.
Today I was driving and it was running great. Then it shut off, tach went to zero and I coasted to a good spot. Got towed home.
Torque Pro- Strong cranking, ICP 150# or so, IPR rises to around 155 duty cycle and zero rpm on the tach.
I unplug the ICP and ICP now rises to around 2400# while cranking. Still no start.
WTS light illuminates like normal, but the check engine like doesn't cycle when I first turn the key on. The CEL usually cycles on for a moment then shuts off before I start it.
IPR tin nut is tight, valve cover harness connectors (outside the valve cover) felt tight.
I have a quarter tank of fuel. I did the Hutch & Harpoon mods years ago so I don't think it's that.
I have the Hydra set to factory. I have AE on my other laptop but can't get to it for a few days.
What do you guys think? The fact that the CEL doesn't illuminate on key on has my attention. Otherwise I'd be thinking CPS.
It's almost like the truck electrically shut off.
I have an OEM ICP sensor waiting to go in.
Thoughts?
I can get that information once I get my Auto Enginuity laptop back. Probably tomorrow afternoon.
I'll try to get the IPR coil resistance ASAP too.
The IPR is around 9 years old. OEM from Riff Raff.
According to Torque the IPR seems to be doing what it should. Starts at around 9 then rises to around 45 duty cycle while cranking. But I'll check the resistance.
Sometimes it is actually the CPS...
