Hello and thanks for helping!
I am struggling with the fit of my front fenders to the door pillar or lower rocker. I've only had this truck several months and I am trying to fix the issues...which are numerous! See pictures (not my truck, but very good images showing my concern). Is the flange supposed to be as shown? Should the pillar/rocker be notched for the flange? Should I just cut the flange off? What is the proper repair?
Thanks for the help.
Jimmy
TTT. Am I the only one that has a situation like this? I found the pictures I used on Facebook, but couldn't see the responses. Surely someone out there can help.
Thanks!
I ran into the same problem with the one I'm doing now and I bent that section of the rocker up to allow the fender to make better contact. It's been some time since I finished the other two I have and would have to crawl under them to see if I did the same. I noticed you are missing the protection plate for your battery too, it bolts to the bracket supporting the cab. I think what I would do in your case is make a cut with a hacksaw and gently curl that piece far enough to clear the fender then apply some seam sealer to the cut. No one will see it..
Thank you 56panelford, for the reply. I figured on doing something like that, but was hoping to find out what Ford's thoughts were for the interference.
The pictures are not from my truck , some I found while searching an answer...but clearly showed the interference issue. BTW, I built a SS battery box for my truck.
That's nice that you built a SS battery box but, the shield John is speaking of has a rubber seal affixed to it and those two components keep your tire from throwing crap all over you battery that can and will cause you issues at some time.
