Back in February I purchased a PPE transmission pan for my 2022 F250 with the 10R140 transmission and 7.3 gasoline engine. Or so I thought. My due diligence and Amazon Garage both lacked sufficient rigor in selecting this pan. Despite both the 6.7 diesel and 7.3 gasoline versions both using the same 10R140 transmission, the pan I purchased only fits the diesel version due to a different exhaust pipe configuration on the 7.3 gasser. I now know this by finding out the hard way. Only after removing the OEM pan and loosening the exhaust pipes on both sides did it become obvious that the PPE pan was waaaay too deep to clear the crossover exhaust pipe at the rear of the transmission.
Once I realized my error, I had no choice but the reinstall the original (plastic!) pan and all the stupid heat shielding since the PPE pan is now no better to me than an expensive boat anchor. Because I purchased the pan in February and just now attempted the install, the Amazon return window has long since closed. I should have called PPE directly to verify the pan I was looking to purchase was the correct version for my needs but "shoulda, coulda, woulda" yada, yada, yada.
The only silver lining is at least I have a new filter and fluid for another ~40K miles. Hopefully my mistake will keep someone else from the same error!
That's a bummer! Sorry to hear that. I will say that I try not to buy things like this from Amazon. Anyway, maybe reach out to PPE and see what they say? They may be able to help you out, especially if the Amazon seller was actually PPE. Another option would be to list that one for sell in the marketplace and buy a new one (preferably from PPE). Good luck!
