Part interchange for 73 F250 2WD front spindle
I have confirmed in the master parts guide and illustrations that the part number for the left hand front spindle for 1973 F250 with dual piston disc brakes (6900 GVWR, NOT 460 engine) is D2TZ-3106-B.
What I don't quite get is this: In the parts listing I see it described as being marked "D2TA-3108-DA and #5". What does "and #5" mean?
For 1973 F350 the parts listing identifies the LH spindle as part number D2TZ-3106-A and described as marked "D2TA-3108-DA and #4". What does "and #4" mean?
I've seen it said that this same part interchanges for all of these: 72/74 F350, 75 F350 before W40001, 72-74 F250 w/ dual piston, 73-74 F250 crew cab, 74 F250 super cab with 6300,6600&7500GVWR.
Which suggests any part stamped D2TA-3108-DA is the same part...
So the core question: what does "and #4" / "and #5" imply I need to watch out for if I go hunting for 72-75 F350's (or 73-74 F250 crew cabs) to donate spindles for my truck? If the doner is not EXACTLY a 73 F250 2WD dual piston 6900 GVWR (not 460), but one of those other year/models and the part is stamped the same, what do I need to look out for?
Thank you!
D2TA-3108-DA is indicated as correct LH spindle both for a 73 F250 dual piston w/o 460 (30.2E), AND for a 73 F350 (30.2F)... But the F350 is a 6.45 x 1.05 kingpin and the F250 is a 6.35 x .85 kingpin? How can that be if it's the same spindle?
