Tint brands
Has anyone heard of Johnson window film? If so, is it any good? The guy I used last time uses suntek carbon xp. Anyways, my neighbor across the street has a mobile guy coming this weekend to tint some of his vehicles, he’s trying to get me to tint my truck as well. Supposedly for just over $200 the guy will install Johnson ceramic with a 5 year warranty. Is Johnson actually legitimate film? I’ve seen the tinters work and it looks good, however, the price is making me leery along with never hearing of Johnson. The guy I’ve previously used offers a lifetime warranty but is a good bit higher on price, $610. Both prices are for both sides (crew cab), front, rear, and sunroof.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Yeah, 5 year warranty isnt that comforting, most are lifetime. But again, you're paying a quarter the price. Maybe someone who has actually had long term experience with it will post up.

Who knows honestly. I’m more of a buy once cry once vs pay for the same thing twice. The price is just enticing.

I looked up that brand and it doesn't sound terrible. They do have different films so you might want to find out wich one he would be using. Maybe he just doesn't put much value on his time.
And then theres this haha...Johnson Window Films is the “Official Window Tint of West Coast Customs”.

These tint brand threads crack me up. Find a guy who’s work you can see that someone you know has used for multiple vehicles. Damn the brand and the cost. My guy has done about 15 vehicles for me and my friends. He charges around $210 for a full sedan and $250 for a full truck. He just did 2 front windows in my Equinox for $65. His work is impeccable. I’ve had him tint the windows in my home and a buddy’s house as well. I have no idea what brand film he uses. Every vehicle he has done has been kept for 3-7 years with never a problem. It looks perfect at install and perfect when we get rid of it. No way I would not use someone cause they only charge $200 if they come recommended by anyone whose opinion I value.

All tint brands are not created equal and just like car battery brands, all brands of tint are produced by only a handful of companies.
With that being said said, pick a ceramic tint that has a lifetime warranty on the product and installation and make sure it’s installed by a shop or person that’s not a fly-by-night operation.

Appreciate it, yeah I held off.
