Got myself back into a 7.3 again
Hey everyone.
Like the title says back into the diesel game, owned an 02 F250 years ago and been kicking myself ever since for selling it. I’ve been working on my uncle for years to sell me his 03 7.3 F250. It’s a crew cab 4 wheel drive XLT with very low miles that he bought new. The truck is in excellent condition and stock except for a hyper tech tuner.
Friday I got the call I’ve been waiting for. He bought a new truck and told me to come get the 03! I know you guys like pics so I’ll try my best.

Dieseltech Chattanooga performance flash tune if you just want to keep it simple and stealthy. No cutting holes in the dash, running wires or tampering with the PCM. You do have to send him the PCM though. That is a nice unmolested truck and I would try to leave it that way personally at much as possible. The Ford AIS is a good option on the intake. On the exhaust I would be tempted to leave it alone and swap out the muffler for the straight through one that I forget what it is called. Most of the restriction in the stock exhaust is the muffler.

Great advice so far, besides what has been listed Honestly one of the biggest things that made a difference for me on how well the truck idled and sound ed was a HPx (high pressure rail crossover). Some haven’t seen much of a difference but it turned my truck into a new truck. It literally is almost half as loud as it was and no more cackling at idle.
Besides the intake (I did the 6637 mod due to ease and cost, wad I also put an external coolant filter on. Given all of these engines are cast and you get drop out of silicate from the antifreeze I would certainly recommend a flush and changing to a good ELC coolant like DELO ELC or several other good ones if hasn’t already been done.
Riff raff or dieselsite is your friend for finding products.
Also check out and keep it bookmarked for how to and parts lists.

BTW you are a LUCKY MAN many here will drool over your new ride. Myself included.

Walker BTM muffler pn 21470 is a cheap and effective way to go for a stockish truck. I put one on thinking I'll upgrade to a 4" exhaust when it rusts out, but it's holding up really well.
For bigger injectors I'm liking a 4" exhaust and an FTE resonator.
AIS pn FA-1759 is best possible filtration and quiet, I like it a lot. Put a sleeve on it for more flow. 6637 breathes better than stock and is inexpensive, but loud.
Great looking truck! Quite the score.
