2003 F350 low EOT no start

If my EOT is below 75 degrees my truck Will NOT and it will just crank. I have to plug my truck in even if it’s 70 degrees out. Once it gets below 75 EOT **** hits the fan. If it’s below about 140 my EBPV kicks on even if it’s 65 outside and it’s idling. I have a new IPR will that fix the EOT issue?

Maybe the eot sensor is bad. Mine wouldnt start below 50* unless plugged in. Found that my gp's were ALL bad. Now, 6/8 are brand new (2 stuck) and here in the desert with overhead reading ice, she smoked but fired up.

I had answers praying to Alah....lol
Sensor located on backside of hpop, driver side about 3oclock position....sensor atop the hpop is oil pressure.

You physically verify that the gpr is sending a signal to the output lug? Mine was new onky to figure out that the pcm wasnt sending the ground signal thru the orange wire, making me run a designated ground off a switch from within the cab

Pcm ground issue all that stuff on a switch etc etc so it grounds and what not and actually works. Brand new pcm. So glow plugs works. I’ll buy a new sensor and switch it out. Hopefully it works. Best tools and easiest way to do this ?

you can ohm test the sensor ( i you tubed it) but the if the pcm detects a bad sensor it should use a default value to start it. I believe that would give you a code and cel.

I clicked that link and literally everything it said as system is what I have. If the EOT is like 120 it’ll start but it’ll run rough and like crap and it’ll stutter and shake BAD then smooth out at 140 and run fine 180+ runs perfectly

I tried getting the old EOT off but can’t friend a wrench that will fit properly without stripping it. 18mm 19’m 3/4. And it’s really really tight

I haven't paid attention to our EOT sensor, but most sensors don't have a normal hex. A normal socket or wrench often works, but if you can't get one to grip well enough, go get a sensor socket. Might be able to borrow one from a parts store if your locals have loaner tools.

I had one like that. Injectors were bad. It had the added glitch that it would smoke at a stop light like a mosquito truck but not smoke going down the highway.

A little update. Finally got around to changing that EOT sensor. And nothing changed besides the fact it’ll start below that EOT but drives really rough until fully warmed up. I have an IPR I could change out was told that could be an issue. But it doesn’t smoke or anything out of the usual.

How many miles are on it? Worn injector poppets will do that, they can be shimmed to buy you some time.
