Glovebox options

the cardboard glovebox liner in my truck broke into pieces taking it out

were there any options besides the cardboard? Any options to make it more robust?

i see some for sale on eBay, any unique years or options to look for when buying? Mine is a 1977

thanks

Trying to locate a link to a plastic one.....JBG used to sell them? You need a 73-79. And FYI one for a 66-77 bronco will NOT work.

Same cardboard but new. https://shop.broncograveyard.com/197...uctinfo/27150/

D Carpenter does NOT have them. Glove Box Liner | Dennis Carpenter Ford Restoration Parts

JBG use to carry them ( I posted the link a long time ago) but no longer show them as available, or at least does not even show them as an option to order.

Back in the day when I was still in the NAVY, I had a 49 ****** wagon. The glove box was starting to come apart. I took it out, mixed up some fiberglass resin and brushed it on the outside. Let it dry, then put soaked fiberglass over the top of that. Last time I saw it the box was still holding together.

Use your old cardboard glovebox as a template (undo the glue n staples) and fabricate (cut, bend, weld or rivet) a new one out of aluminum or sheetmetal.

I considered fabricating a metal one, but was concerned it would be noisy. So, I just got a cardboard one. After all, the original lasted 40 years. I might coat it with some undercoat as an added measure.

Unfortunately I tore it up a bit getting it out. Maybe I can tape it up and then coat it

Classic ford parts in OKC has the cardboard ones and they are only around $17 bucks. Don't waste your time looking in the junk yards.

I can't grab the link from the ole work computer!

When I had my heater/ac mess apart, I stuffed an old ammo can up under the dash into the glove box opening just for grins....it was close. I might fab something up from an old ammo can and see how it turns out.
