Your choice of oil filter and oil 6.2 liter

As the title states I would really welcome the members choice on this subject. Also if certain brands used in the past were not satisfactory in your opinion please include that in your response too.
Thank you for all the great advice and recommended product(s)!!

I will take a stab at this highly covered subject, use a motorcraft filter and a oil meeting the Ford 930a spec.

That pretty much says it all. There are some good AM filters but for what OEM costs, why?

I'd go to the 6.2L forum and you'll have plenty to read for days....

Same here, 'though my local Walmart stopped carrying the Motorcraft filters and I had to go to an autoparts store.

FYI the Motorcraft filters can be had for right around 56.00 for a case of 12 online. At work the fleet 6.2 trucks get the cheapest oil that carries the Ford spec, normally Citgo or WPP and they live plenty long and stay just as clean inside. It comes down to personal taste really but I wouldn't deviate from the Ford spec on the oil.

My first oil change, went with Royal Purple and Motorcraft Ford Racing filter. Plan on keeping it that way.

Whatever is on sale

I sold one with over 330K on it. They were all work miles with a pipe rack on top of it with tool boxes all the way down each side. Pulled a small trailer for most of those miles probably in the 2500# range loaded. Plenty of young boys driving it and raising hell I'm sure. I replaced plenty of bolt on stuff over the years, tensioner pulleys and starters, alternators and such.
Sold it to a guy that was going to keep using it for a work truck. I bought it new with 19 miles on it and changed the oil and filter every 5 k ish miles with whatever organic dino oil and filter combo deal that was on sale the day I walked into the store, probably never used the same stuff twice. I have a new 6.2 now that I haven't had the first oil change in yet, fortunately when I bought it the dealership threw in some services for me, I will let them do it from now on and whatever they use is what they use I suppose. Be hard for a Ford to argue with me over a warranty issue when I bought it from a Ford dealer and then had same said Ford dealer work on it. They said they would sell me ten more services for $380.00, probably take them up on it, not worth crawling under the thing for that.
I don't manage a fleet or anything but I believe if you keep some fresh clean lube in there you will probably be all good or maybe I just got lucky with that one truck.
